Betty Blue

“Betty Blue”

by Robert Moritz-Olsen

Why do you run Betty?
Luckily you ran straight,
Into the arms of Zorg.

The dramatic feelings,
Found a home,
You are not alone anymore Betty,
But still you are blue.

The sky too,
Is blue,
True,
You are,
One of the common few.

But extremely unique,
That look,
That book,
Zorg wrote,
For you.

The book of life,
The soulmates of forever.

Life is kind and brutal,
In the act of fate,
But do not hate.
This is a state,
Of divine natural evolvement,
Of how life has to be.

Just nature Betty,
Blue,
Is the sky,
When it received you.

Amen.

That scenery you both experience,
It makes sense,
To feel all these sensations,
Of pure, raw love.

I see forever,
In your youthful eyes.

Zorg and Betty.

You cling to him,
In a joyful moment,
That will last,
Passed,
All death.

Forever,
Scenery ends,
Your love does not

“Betty Blue 3”

You walk the stairs,
Straight into the arms,
Of eternal amore.

That smile you introduce,
To Zorg,
Is made in the Heavens.

You sit down,
And rise the orgasmic storms,
Of erotic, literal love.

Amore in talk and walk.

Enjoy the sun and the rain.

Soleil et pluie.

“Betty Blue 4”

There is hidden,
A surreal tivoli,
In the hearts,
Of Zorg and Betty.

Infact love is a tivoli,
Cursed and blessed,
With divine confusion.

Riding the adventure,
Both of you try to stay calm,
But psychedelic sounds of love,
Make you almost crazy.

You both handle it,
At your best.
That love in your chest.

Betty you are drawn into,
Deep insanity.
You are too kind for the world.

You only wanted love,
That is what you gave,
That is what you got.

You were in the spot,
Of absolute everything,
Life could offer.

Only love.

That smile,
Lasts a while,
Forever for God,
Brief for you Betty.

But you gave it away,
With passion,
In a way only you could do,
Betty Blue.

“Betty Blue 6”

You break glass,
To reach the reality,
Behind the flesh and blood,
Your soul.

You wanted the world,
Beyond this world.

You had it,
And lost it.

But you died only in flesh,
Your spirit is gone,
To the world beyond,
Waiting for Zorg.

The boy is playing the piano,
The music acts,
Like a remembrance of your soul.

Betty, you are moved,
And move into the ultimate drama,
Of life.

It is dramatic love,
Sent from above,
To challenge you both.

“Betty Blue 8”

That warm summer breeze,
Is filled with your love,
These hot nights,
These dramatic fights,
With how to be in full harmony.

Will you ever be?

But you have become lovers,
In love.

Accomplished.

You do something,
That is meant to be,
Zorg and Betty.

God bless you.

Silence without Betty,
Then she comes like a storm,
Demands strength,
And passionate love,
In all areas of life.

A sweet lady,
Of all times,
Forever.

“Betty Blue” is a passionate and dramatic love story about Betty and her boyfriend, Zorg — a struggling writer whom she loves deeply. Betty’s vibrant, impulsive spirit drives both the beauty and the tragedy of their relationship.

In these poems, I’ve tried to capture the essence and emotional intensity of the film’s characters — the wild devotion, the chaos, and the fragile humanity at the heart of their story.

The unforgettable Beatrice Dalle brought Betty to life on screen. I hope these poems reflect a little of that same spirit — and that you enjoy reading them.

“Betty Blue 10”

Your eyes do change,
Smiles turning into something else.

Those eyes love Zorg.

Betty loves herself,
But hates the world.

No one party so innocent,
But vulgar as Betty,
She becomes too kind,
Of all the wine.

She is cute,
In an ugly world.

She is brave.

How can darkness haunt you,
Betty?

You are only kind,
And pure.

Why does the non-existing darkness,
Chase you?

You are only good,
Under God.

God bless your soul,
Betty sad,
And too blue.

You explore the landscape,
Of bodies together with Zorg.

You are drawn into sceneries,
Which seduce you sweet and passionate,
And you are both crazy and kind.

This is life Betty,
You know it.

Nighttime,
You sleep awakened,
Naked next to life.

Life is naked,
As your love is.

Betty, penetrate life,
And reach the core,
Of your soul,
And experience forever,
In every single moment.

You are holy Betty.

You fly and die, Betty.

But that is something we all do.

You absorb the world,
And of course the love of,
Zorg.

Soulmates of forever,
You are one,
It hurts,
But this is life Betty Blue.

Those sad tears,
Of devastating insanity,
Made Zorg cry forever and more.

You were so sad,
You cried,
You died,
Inside.

All the inner beauty you had,
Is gone,
No sun,
Just a cold moon left,
Of a lost woman of time.

“Betty Blue 17”

That crazy, insane rage,
Comes from a world,
Of no humanity.

Betty you fight with every scream,
Your every tear.
Trying to love in a place called,
Exactly here.

But in that place of here,
It is lonely,
Nobody else is here.

That’s why Betty.
That’s why.

The evil world eat flowers,
Like you Betty.

No chances for the butterflies,
They all die like you,
Betty Blue.

You did run,
Straight into arms,
Of the sun.

You enlightened smile,
Your endless joy.

You were one in a million.

Stronger,
Wiser,
Prettier,
An angel on earth.

The wind caressed you mildly,
Though fate was hard.

“Betty Blue 20”

Haunted by fate, in a silent world,
Where no one speaks, cries or laughs.

You did your best Betty,
That forever fight,
On earth.

You are loved,
By God.

Let us all learn it all,
From loving flowers,
Like you,
Betty Blue.

“Betty Blue 21”

That adventure you have with Zorg,
In flesh, blood, heart, soul, in places.

Incredible common,
But divine feelings,
So deep,
That they mark the unknown,
History of yours, with your name,
Betty Blue.
